| STEP 1: Cast your SM4 mold and let it dry thoroughly before unmolding. (Wait several hours.) |
 |
STEP 2: Take your precast SM4 arch pieces and place them in your basic mold as shown in the diagrams at the left.
STEP 3: Fill in with cement (backfill) the outside curve the shaded area in the diagram at the left. Let set about an hour or so. Carefully remove the casting and clean off the face of your arch. Some cement will drift over the stonework. Do so with a stiff tooth brush. You will need to do STEP 3 twice for a two-sided tunnel.

STEP 4: Following the diagram at the right, fit together arch pieces using block #1 as support pieces between the arches at both ends. Once that has set wait several hours for your adhesive to cure fill in with cement. Place your piece (top side down) on a flat level surface covered with Saran Wrap. Pour cement in and smooth out inside the arch.

STEP 5: Make supporting columns as shown in the two diagrams below.
The center arch sits on the columns.

By making a series of arches and columns, you will be able to design a bridge of any length.
